The two people connected by the red thread are destined lovers,
regardless of time, place or circumstances.
This magical cord may stretch or tangle,
but never break.

Red string of fate
As a kid I felt really poignant with the idea that no matter what happen there is someone tethered to someone. I tried to imagine how it works.
It is very much like destiny, except it is creatively added with physical object that depicts "connection" (string) which makes it sound a little like an expected surprise. Like pulling a string and following it where it leads you or what is tied at its end.
You expect something but you are just not sure what it is.
The one at the other end of the string will be an entity of surprise until time shortens the string and you find out that its no longer a surprise but destiny itself.
I wanted to make a story out of it.
Over the years though element of anticipation was still nice, I was more intrigued with
"This magical cord may stretch or tangle, but never breaks"
part because I felt like Destiny got over rated.
It had to be more substantive. It had to be less ideal. A happy ending should not be that easy.
The notion for me got really boring because you are assured that you'll have someone in the end no matter what.
So the string has to suffer, in order for things to be more interesting. Both of the characters should struggle in impeccable execution of the plot. That way it wont be labeled as a platitude even if the concept is ordinary. The string should be tested, it should stretch in a way that the space is beyond distance and it should be tangled as if it can never be undone. I capitalized on it being tangled because throughout a love story, most of us will be acquainted with friends and friendship of different shades and connections. Romance that we will think as "this could be forever". Situations that make us cynical of love and life. Circumstances that make everything complicated, intriguing and vibrant. While all of those happen, the string will get tangled but still will find it's end tied up with someone. It never breaks.
The beauty of an ordinary concept can only be seen in the details on how it is crafted.
Obviously, I'm still not able to make a story but I used it as the title of the site.
